PIA to Resume Direct Flights to Paris and Heathrow!
  • PIA plans to restart flights to Paris next month pending safety clearance from IASA.
  • Direct flights from Pakistan to Heathrow Airport in Britain are scheduled to resume on August 14.
  • PIA is accelerating maintenance for its Boeing 777 fleet, aiming to have nine planes operational soon.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is on track to restart its flight services to Paris next month. During a recent discussion with a group from the Council of Economic and Energy Journalists in Islamabad, the airline’s spokesperson disclosed that PIA anticipates receiving safety clearance from the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) by the end of this month.

Upon securing the necessary clearance, PIA plans to commence flights to Paris in June. This marks a significant milestone for the airline as it works to reestablish its presence in European destinations. In addition to Paris, PIA aims to reintroduce direct flights from Pakistan to Heathrow Airport in Britain on August 14, coinciding with Pakistan’s Independence Day.

To prepare for the reopening of these critical routes to Europe and Britain, PIA has accelerated maintenance and overhaul procedures for its Boeing 777 aircraft fleet. Currently, seven Boeing 777 planes are operational, and the airline expects to add two more to the fleet within the next two months. This expansion will bring the total number of Boeing 777 planes to nine, enabling PIA to efficiently operate flights to Europe and Britain.

The resumption of flights to Paris and the reintroduction of direct flights to Heathrow are strategic moves for PIA as it aims to enhance its international service offerings. By focusing on the maintenance and expansion of its fleet, PIA is positioning itself to meet the demands of international travel and improve connectivity for passengers traveling between Pakistan and key European destinations.
