Everyone fears ageing!
Everyone fears ageing! Yet, Pakistani singer-turned-actor Fawad Khan, who will turn 43 this November, remains a heartthrob and cherished celebrity both in Pakistan and globally. Despite the passage of time, Khan continues to captivate audiences with his mature looks and seasoned charisma, maintaining a fan base that rivals many younger stars in the entertainment industry.
Facing the Pressures of Aging
In a recent interview with, Fawad Khan discussed the challenges of aging while in the public eye. “Being in the spotlight, there’s a certain pressure tied to appearances, which can feel burdensome for men in the industry as well. It’s unfortunate but true,” Khan remarked. He shed light on how the demands of maintaining a youthful image can affect an actor’s life and career.
Embracing the “Silver Lining”
Despite these challenges, Khan sees a “silver lining” in projects where performance is valued over traditional romantic ideals. He highlighted that in roles like his upcoming part in the web series Barzakh, the focus shifts from physical appearance to delivering a compelling character performance. This shift allows actors to showcase their talent without being overshadowed by age-related concerns.
A Universal Concern
Khan acknowledged that the fear of aging is a universal issue, not confined to celebrities. “Outside the film industry, I believe everyone grapples with the fear of aging. It’s a universal concern. Personally, I feel I’m navigating a mid-life awakening,” he shared. He reflected on his early awareness of life’s impermanence and the impact of losing childhood idols like Moin Akhtar, Junaid Jamshed, and Michael Jackson.
The Impact of Loss
Khan spoke candidly about the void left by the passing of influential figures, noting that their absence extends beyond personal loss to a fading of cherished memories. “Whether or not you knew them personally, their absence leaves a void because they had impacted your life in some way, and now they cease to exist,” he said.
Concerns Beyond the Self
For Khan, aging brings deeper concerns about the well-being of loved ones. He expressed that his primary worry is about what will happen to his family when he is no longer around. “There’s a spiritual aspect ingrained in us, believing that God sustains all things. And one has to find peace in that,” he added.

Fawad Khan is well-known for his memorable roles in drama serials Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai, as well as Bollywood films Khoobsurat and Kapoor & Sons.
