Islamabad Pakistan Weather Update!
Islamabad, September 14– Heavy rains with isolated hailstorms are expected to hit Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several parts of Pakistan starting Friday night through Saturday. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea and a westerly wave will affect the country’s upper regions, bringing wet and stormy weather.
The PMD forecasts heavy rain and isolated hailstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, and Kashmir. Some rain may also fall in lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, and Gilgit Baltistan.
Weather Conditions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
- Islamabad is expected to see maximum temperatures between 31°C and 33°C on Saturday and 33°C to 35°C on Sunday.
- Rawalpindi will experience temperatures between 30°C and 32°C on Saturday, rising to 32°C to 34°C on Sunday.
Recent Weather Observations
Hot and dry conditions prevailed across most of Pakistan over the past 24 hours, but some areas received rain:
- Islamabad recorded 27mm of rainfall in Zero Point and 10mm in Saidpur.
- Rawalpindi experienced 24mm of rain in Shamsabad and 5mm at Chaklala Airport.
- Narowal recorded 7mm of rain.
Pakistan’s Hottest Locations
Despite the upcoming rain, Sibbi was the hottest area on Friday, with the temperature reaching 41°C. Meanwhile, Dadu and Turbat both recorded highs of 40°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature on Friday was 35°C, with relative humidity at 60% in the evening. In Rawalpindi, temperatures peaked at 34°C, with evening humidity at 49%.
Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautions as heavy rainfall and hailstorms may cause local disruptions.
