Suzuki Every Launch Date Confirmed in Pakistan!
Suzuki Every Launch Date Confirmed in Pakistan! Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (PSMCL) has announced a delay in the eagerly awaited launch of the Suzuki Every 2024. Originally set for 2022 and later rescheduled for September 2024, the release has now been pushed to mid-October 2024 due to ongoing production challenges.
A Potential Replacement for the Bolan Van
The Suzuki Every has attracted significant attention since its debut at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAS) in 2022. The vehicle is viewed as a potential successor to the Bolan van, which, along with the Ravi pickup, has been a staple in PSMCL’s lineup for almost 40 years. The fifth-generation Every van is expected to resolve critical safety issues that the Bolan lacked, such as the absence of ABS, airbags, and rear seatbelts.
Production Challenges and Plant Closure
The delay in launching the Suzuki Every is largely due to broader production difficulties faced by PSMCL. The company has been forced to shut down its production plant indefinitely due to challenges in securing completely knocked down (CKD) kits, which are essential for vehicle assembly. These kits have been stuck at the port for over 45 days, causing a complete halt in production.
Financial Impact and Government Appeal
Shafiq Ahmed Shaikh, Head of Corporate Affairs at Pak Suzuki, stressed the seriousness of the situation, stating, “Pak Suzuki Motor Co Ltd closed and shut down its plant due to no approval of CKD, whereas its CKD is lying at the port for the last 45 days. Due to this, Pak Suzuki is not only paying billions of rupees in detention and demurrages, but the government is also losing out on taxes and duties due to the halt in production and sales.”

The extended storage of CKD kits at the port has resulted in heavy financial penalties for the company, adding to the already difficult production situation. Shaikh emphasized that the plant would remain closed until the CKD kits were released and called on the government to address the issue urgently to prevent further economic losses.
Looking Ahead
As Pak Suzuki grapples with these production challenges, the delay in the Suzuki Every’s launch underscores the complex and unpredictable nature of the automotive industry in Pakistan. Enthusiasts and prospective buyers will need to wait a bit longer for the arrival of the Suzuki Every, a vehicle expected to introduce important safety and design improvements to the market.
